Using the password vault

You open a site’s vault on the site page in the Password vault tab. It can be viewed and used from the role Viewer Plus upwards.

Unlocking

Enter the Master password and click Unlock. Your browser decrypts the entries; the server sees none of it. With Lock, or when you leave the page, the vault is closed again.

Via Open in new tab you work with the vault in a tab of its own while the site page stays open.

Entries

Each entry has a Label, a User, a Password and a Note.

  • Show shows the password, Copy puts it on the clipboard.
  • Add entry creates a new entry. Random password suggests a secure password.
  • Edit and Delete change or remove an entry.
  • The Search finds entries by label or user.

Entries marked Transmitted automatically were transferred by the gateway itself: the Miniserver passwords and the LoxBerry remote maintenance. They are updated with every change on the gateway.

Remote maintenance from the vault

When starting remote maintenance you can take the remote maintenance password directly from the vault with Take from password vault instead of typing it.

If the vault stays locked

If the vault reports The password vault is inconsistent and has been locked., the stored keys no longer match. The browser then deliberately does not open it, because someone might have altered the data on the server. Contact the owner of your installation.
