Terms
Partner : You – the operator of a SmartFleet server. Your installation carries a partner ID, which you set during setup and which cannot be changed afterwards.
Server : Your SmartFleet installation on a web space. A server belongs to exactly one partner.
Partner UI : The server’s interface in the browser. At the top are the areas Sites, Miniservers and System Administration.
Site : A customer installation: one or more gateways with the Miniservers they query. A site takes up one slot of your license, however many gateways it has.
Gateway : The device at the customer that connects the site to your server: a LoxBerry with the LoxBerry SmartFleet Gateway plugin or a SmartFleet Gateway for the DIN rail. If one gateway cannot handle all Miniservers, the site gets another one.
LoxBerry SmartFleet Gateway : The plugin on the LoxBerry at the customer. It makes the LoxBerry the site’s gateway.
Deployment code : The term stands for two different codes:
- The code you receive when setting up the server starts with
PM1-. It contains your license. - The code you generate in the partner UI for a new site starts with
FM1-. It is valid for 24 hours and can only be used once. In the plugin it is called connection code.
Pairing : Binding a gateway to the server with the site code. Afterwards the site reports every minute.
Job : An action you trigger in the partner UI and the gateway carries out – for example creating a backup or opening remote maintenance. The gateway picks up jobs at its next contact.
Event : An entry in the System status tab: errors and warnings from the Miniservers’ device log, failed backups, excessive temperature and the like.
System value : An output of a block in the Loxone program that you select for recording. System values appear as charts and are available for dashboards, system schematics and alarm rules.
Remote maintenance : Time-limited access to the gateway at the customer: for a SmartFleet Gateway its page in a tab of its own in the partner UI, for a LoxBerry its interface through an encrypted address.
Password vault : An encrypted store for credentials per site. Decryption only happens in the browser, with a master password that never leaves the browser.
Role : Defines what a user may do in the partner UI: Viewer, Viewer Plus, Administrator or Owner. See Users and roles.
